Aero Interface does not run

Windows Vista

If your system meets the minimum requirements of the GUI, download the latest driver from the manufacturer of the video.

Logitech's Harmony remote software disables the Aero GUI. If you are using this software, use the System Configuration Utility to disable it.

  1. Open MSCONFIG (This will open in a new window)
  2. Go to the Startup tab.
  3. Remove the checkmark from the Harmony Startup entry
  4. Click OK
  5. Reboot the computer

If that doesn't work, try the following

  1. Go to http://www.ati.com
  2. Download the newest Catalyst drivers
  3. Uninstall the old driver
  4. Install the new driver
  5. Reboot the computer
  6. Redo the performance evaluation
  7. If your score is above or at 2.0, you are good to go
  8. If the score is 1.0, you may need to re-install the operating system
  9. If the score is just above 1.0 but Aero still does not work, you may need a new video card.

If the above doesn't resolve your issue, use the Software Troubleshooter.
