Internet Explorer crashes when entering Banner
Oracle is a web based program. There is a program that uses Oracle on the web called Banner. When you try to enter Banner, Banner crashes or gives error messages. This just started around April 2009. The problem apparently is with Oracle. In order to resolve the issue, you must uninstall Oracle. You cannot just go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall it. Below is the procedure to fix the issue. You must follow these steps exactly or it will not work
Disable add-ons to see if they are the cause
- Open Internet Explorer

- Click on Tools
|
|
- Arrow over Manage Add-ons
- Click on Enable or Disable Add-ons
![]() |
- Highlight an Add-on that you want to disable
- Place the dot on Disable
- Click OK
- Test Banner. If it works, than the problem is with the add-on you disabled.
- If it doesn't work, repeat the above steps till either the problem goes away or all add-ons has been disabled.
If all add-ons are disabled and still having the issue, follow the steps below
- Go to control panel (This link will open in a different window)
- Double-click Add/Remove programs (This link will open in a different window)
- Highlight Oracle (There may be more than one. If that is the case repeat steps 3 and 4 till all of them are gone)
