Speakers cause no boot
There can be various causes for the system not to boot when the speakers are connected.
- Speakers could be bad
- Sound card could be bad
- Motherboard can be bad
Try the following to determine which is the cause
- Try another set of speakers. If the problem continues, the speakers are not the issue. If the problem goes away then you will need to replace the speakers.
- If the issue is not with the speakers, the issue can be either your sound card or your motherboard (depends if the sound card is built into the motherboard or a PCI card.
- If the sound card is a PCI card, try another PCI sound card.
- If the sound is built into the motherboard, you will have to either replace the motherboard, or try a sound card in a PCI slot and see if that works.
