To use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard by using the Microsoft Windows XP CD-ROM, first complete the steps in the "Collect the Files and Settings from the Old Computer" section of this article, and then complete the steps in the "Transfer the Files and Settings to the New Computer" section of this article.Collect the Files and Settings from the Old Computer
- Start the File and Settings Transfer Wizard on the computer
from which you want to collect the files and settings:
- Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
- Right-click Start
- Click Explorer
- Open the Support\Tools folder on the Windows XP CD-ROM
- Double-click the Fastwiz.exe file
