Test modem using HyperTerminal
To test the modem in HyperTerminal, follow these steps.
- 
				Open Run or Search window 
- 
				Type in HYPERTRM 
- 
				Click on OK

				If you get the message that HyperTerminal cannot be found, click here or otherwise skip to next step 
- 
				Press the Escape Key 
- 
				Now you should have a blank New Connection in HyperTerminal. 
- 
				Type ATE1 (You may not see anything but type it anyways) 
- 
				Press Enter
- 
				Screen should say OK 
- 
				Type AT&F&W 
- 
				Press Enter. 
- 
				Screen should say OK 
- 
				Type ATZ 
- 
				Press Enter
- 
				Screen should say OK 
- 
				Type ATX3DT,18005721959 OR ATX3DT,18003506885 (try the ATX3DT,18005721959 if you can't connect, then exit HyperTerminal and repeat the above steps and try the ATX3DT,18003506885) 
- 
				Press Enter
NOTE: If it connects it will say connected at a certain speed and it will ask for a password and sign you off since you didn't enter a password. This is normal. If this happens then your modem is working. If it doesn't then either you have a hardware issue or a problem in your software somewhere. Try using the Software Troubleshooter if you still can't connect.
