Troubleshoot No Disk

If you get the following

You can try the following

  1. Push the eject button on the floppy drive. Sometimes a disk that is in the drive can cause this (don't assume there is not one in the drive)
  2. If you started getting this after you installed a program, Uninstall the program and see if the issue goes away.
  3. If you know when this started, try a system restore
  4. Try the windows installer cleanup
  5. Try limiting MSCONFIG to see if anything there is causing the issue.
  6. Turn off your anti-virus to see if it is causing the issue.
  7. Use the Spyware Virus troubleshooter to make sure you are not infected
  8. Try running CHKDSK /R
  9. Try uninstalling the floppy drive controller
  10. Try changing the drive letters
  11. If you have Quicktime, try uninstalling it to see if the issue goes away.

If you are still having the issue, use the software troubleshooter
