How to access Windows Update
For instructions on accessing Windows Update, choose your operating system
- Windows Vista and Windows 7
To access via the All Programs list, do the following
- Click Start

- Click All Programs
|
|
- Click Windows update
|
|
To access via the control panel, do the following
- Go to control panel (This link will open in a different window)
- Double-click Automatic Updates
|
|

Click Windows Update Web site
|
|
To access via the run command do the following
- Access Run or Search window (Page will open in a separate window)
- Type wupdmgr
|
|
Access Updates via the update shield by doing the following
- If there is a shield by the clock (It might not be there or it may be hidden)
|
|
- Click on The shield
|
|
Windows Vista and Windows 7
To access via the All Programs list, do the following
- Click Orb
|
|
- Click All Programs
|
|
- Click Windows Update
|
|
To access via the control panel, do the following
- Go to control panel (This link will open in a different window)
- Double-click Windows Update
|
|
To access via the search window, do the following
- Click Orb
|
|
- Type wupdmgr in the search window

Access Updates via the Update Shield, do the following
- On the task bar by the clock
|

- Click on The shield
